主题：Inflation and Unemployment in the Long Run Revisited

讲座简介：We construct a continuous-time, monetary model with frictional goods and labor markets to revisit the long-run relationship between inflation and unemployment. By endogenizing the value of consumers' outside options and market power in accordance with standard consumer search theory, we generate novel predictions for the slope of the long-run Phillips curve, optimal monetary policy, and outcomes at the frictionless limit. The relationship between ináation and unemployment is non-monotone and, at low inflation rates, an increase in ináation reduces unemployment. The Friedman rule is suboptimal when firms'average bargaining power across markets is low. Markups and markdowns vanish as frictions disappear.

个人简介：Guillaume Rocheteau 是美国加州大学欧文分校经济系的教授。他是一位专注于货币经济学、劳动市场、和宏观经济理论的著名经济学家。Rocheteau 教授在法国图卢兹大学（Université Toulouse 1 Capitole）获得经济学博士学位，之后在美国路易斯安那州新奥尔良的联邦储备银行担任研究经济学家，并于 2007 年加入 UCI 经济系。他是货币搜索理论（monetary search theory）领域的领军人之一，他的研究成果多次发表在《American Economic Review》、《Econometrica》、《Journal of Political Economy》、《Review of Economic Studies》等顶级经济学期刊上。Rocheteau 现任 Journal of Economic Theory 副主编，积极参与推动该领域的学术发展。他还是经济学著作《Money, Payments, and Liquidity》的合著者之一，该书系统阐述了货币、支付机制与流动性之间的理论关系，是该领域的重要参考文献。他的研究为理解现代金融体系与货币政策的运作提供了关键理论基础。
